JAMMU, Feb 8: Former minister and PCC senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma took strong exception to the statement of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on the floor of the Assembly in which she denigrated the institution of Army by saying that there are black sheep in the institution.
Sharma said this  statement of  the Chief Minister is bound to demoralise Armed Forces. The BJP,which is considering themselves the only nationalist party didn’t raise any objection over this irresponsible statement of  the CM but were thumping the desks in the Assembly.
While addressing the protesters at SDM office Akhnoor,  Sham Lal said that he was surprised over the statement of  Chief Minister that her Government lodged FIR with the concurrence of  Defence Minister of Government of India.
Sham Lal said that our Army is guarding our borders and country day and night giving befitting reply to the enemy at the cost of their precious lives. He said that lodging an FIR against Army personnel will demoralise them. He said that on one hand the BJP is claiming themselves as “Rashtravadi” but on the other hand to enjoy the fruits of power they totally succumb to PDP in anti- national activities like lodging of FIR against army, release of stone pelters and their rehabilitation etc.
The people of Jammu gave massive mandate to them with the hope that they will mitigate their sufferings and do justice with the Jammu region but they have totally betrayed people of Jammu and the people here will teach them lessons in fourth coming elections.
PCC general secretary Manjit Singh lashed out at the BJP for its total surrender over the promises made to the people of Jammu region and blamed that present government of holding out discrimination to the Jammu region on all fronts. He said that BJP compromised on all issues and slogans for the sake of power and they stand badly exposed. He described the coalition government as total failure on all fronts.
