DODA, Nov 27: Reaching out to the people of far- flung areas, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Shakti Raj Parihar held a public meeting in Parshola area today.
During his visit, the people came from Kolda, Parshola, Mahallah, Khankote, Gujjar Basti and other adjoining villages and apprised him of various problems being faced by them. They raised the issues of electricity, water, bad condition of roads and health care.
People also highlighted the poor condition of various water supply schemes in the area and demanded to ensure regular supply of clean drinking water in all villages.
MLA after listening to the problems of people and assured to take up issues on priority. He also sought reports from the concerned officers whilst most of the issues were settled on the spot.
MLA said that after completing tender process, the compensation is underway, hopefully within next month work will start on this road project. Its a crucial road in this area which would help to provide connectivity to thousands of people in far-flung villages of three Panchayats.
He also started a water supply scheme for village Kolda on this occasion and directed the Power Development Department to start the installation of transformers and poles in Parshola, Kolda and Gujjar Basti.
Meanwhile, MLA also distributed LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana among the villagers. He said the move would benefit thousands of households living below poverty line in Doda constituency under the Central scheme which is the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep remote villages smoke-free.
