It waned, it dwindled, it withered, it shrunk and ended in a fiasco . Did it fail or really ended unceremoniously but whatever the case, it would carry with it the bloodiest scars it left behind. Yes, that was the purpose. Who wanted to overawe who is not that important as it is with what intentions? The fiasco of Shaheen Bagh can best be termed as disaster of mythic proportions because there does exist a difference between a failure and a fiasco. Any agitation with dubious ambitions and exerting mediaeval hegemony like the one under reference, even after decisive partition of 1947, can best be termed as highly motivated with ulterior aims . If those motives cannot see the light of the day but one thing is certain that what was brewing against whom and why from within, found its catharsis in Shaheen Bagh and its likes elsewhere across the country.
It is quite unfortunate that instead of discussing other issues of economic and political importance , the one under reference reluctantly is sought to be dwelt with as most of the writers would evade touch this topic even though it concerned the sovereignty and the integrity of the country as well as peace and tranquillity within the country. Biryani , daily wages payment , mineral water, light refreshment between the two biryani sumptuous meals , started undergoing fast the rigors , ordeal and the tenacity of the Law of Diminishing Returns plus the culmination of the final Act of the play – the carnage , destruction of property, loot , vandalism, attacks on and killing of police personnel and the like. That all hastened the winding up of the Shaheen Bagh rendezvous. Can it be allowed to go scot free or treated just as casually as it was at the time of nesting the platform on December 15 , a day after Sonia Gandhi gave a war cry of “Aar Paar Kaa Faisla” and “Gharoon Say Bahar Niklo” and still more “Koye Bhi Qurbani , Koye Bhi ….” followed by her illustrious son “Daroo Matt “, and more like ” Aap ko dabaya ja raha hai, kuchla ja raha hai, daroo mutt …Congress tumharey sath hai..” and joined by the “charismatic ” leader Priyanka Vadra ‘s inciting words of persuasion to “act”.
Law of the land is meant to keep a check on human behaviour lest it goes awry and poses danger to peace and public order . Now, since the process of identifying and arresting arsonists, murderers, petrol bomb and acid throwers, stone pelting herds, conspirators, etc in respect of recent Delhi organised mass disturbances is reportedly on , using the latest technology available with Delhi police, the Home Minister should set an example to order to deal with such elements ruthlessly . Fast track courts should be constituted to conduct day to day hearing so that decisions and judgments of convictions are pronounced as quickly as possible as a future deterrent. It also enjoins upon the Union Home Ministry to see that the big fish do not get slipped out of the long hands of the law . In other words, Delhi riots rather carnage should not be treated like any other ordinary crime but symbolic of a “Prayog” or experiment with hidden and shrouded aim to set the entire country afire for no reason but to resow the seeds of what Jinnah had done right from 1934 and more so in 1945-46 that paved the way of dividing India .
What implies, therefore, is to initiate action against all those right from Smt. Sonia Gandhi to other VIPs who made Shaheen Bagh as their political destination to settle scores with Narendra Modi for reasons better known to them but using the spot as a boiling point and an igniting mode to set Delhi afire. Sonia Ji should be asked as to what was there in the CAA that “Aar Paar Key Ladai” and even coming out of homes on roads had to be resorted to when CAA had no connexion with any Indian residing in any part of the country. When it was no different from the one proposed by the Parliamentary Committee headed by Pranab Mukherjee and Kapil Sibal and others being members on that under Congress rule.
This writer is surprised as must be millions of the countrymen in seeing the same opposition which incited, fanned and even sustained Shaheen Bagh now asking for the resignation of the Home Minister , topping which “secular” Owasi even asking for the resignation of the Prime Minister. Owasi very often in his public meetings calls him ‘Zalim’ and exhorts his followers to unite as they alone could defeat the BJP. In fact , that was the immediate and continues to be the ultimate wish and an attempt of the opposition in seeing Modi- Shah quitting this way or that way. Did not Amanullah Khan exhort his gathering to gird up their loins to gherao the Home Minister’s residence much earlier than the drop scene of Shaheen Bagh into shaking and tremor(ing) Delhi as never before?
Adhir Ranjan Choudhry of Congress who raises his arms and muscles more than his volume of voice in the Parliament wanted the Prime Minister to leave the most powerful leader of the world, American President Donald Trump on his maiden visit to Delhi unattended . That smacks of the real intentions of his party going to any extent even discrediting India in matters of international protocol and even the basic courtesies which the head of a state should extend to the other. In fact , disturbances were timed exactly and meticulously with the visit of Trump just to defame India in that their intrinsic aim to discredit, defame and embarrass Modi was the main purpose.
Not only did we see Congress openly inciting people of their conventional vote Bank to virtually create a situation of affrays and upheavals in the country supported by the Aam Aadmi Party, over ground Naxals intellectuals , Popular Front of India , Communists and others but keep the same supporting in order to sustain and protract it. Without mincing words, the entire grand but diabolical plan was not to press for rolling back the CAA as everybody knew that it was nowhere of any effect to anyone and was an Act passed by the Parliament but only arranging by employing any means for garnering cumulative hate , abomination, loathing , resentment, revenge and venom against PM Modi and possibly ensure a huge dent in better bilateral relations of India with the Muslim countries barring Pakistan and Turkey . In other words, could a former Chief Minister and an MP Digvijay Singh join the anti CAA stir and raise slogans of “Hum Kya Chahtey Aazadi” ? Can a former Union Minister Salman Khursheed afford to chorus with small children the same Aazadi slogan? Could again, a former Union Minister Mani Shanker join the paid protesters and provoke them by calling Modi “Qatil” ? Rajasthan Chief Minister Gehlot saying (as reported in Dainik Baskar) that if CAA was not rolled back , that would “result in total disintegration of India like Russia and Pakistan .” Like his leaders Sonia, Rahul, Priyanka Vadra and others , Gehlot continues to be not in jail for provocative statements.”
Now ,see someone known as Harsh Mander , close to Sonia Gandhi calling people to decide things on roads. He said, “Supreme Court did not protect secularism, humanity and equality as observed in cases of Ayodhya, Kashmir , NRC.” What Mander wanted the Court do about Kashmir? What he wanted about Ayodhya – to either keep it lingering on for further 500 years or decide in favour of the other party to the “dispute”? Does Mander want no NRC and have this country flooded with anyone and everyone in the name of his and his party’s brand of secularism? His heart beats alarmingly for the “delay” in booking Kapil Mishra but not Owasi, Waris Pathan, Amanant Ullah Khan, Tahir, Akbarudin Owasi and numerous others. At least, against Maulana Haider Nissar who in Owasi’s gathering did not tire calling Owasi “Sher” saying, “Before anybody tries to talk of sending us to Pakistan, we shall dig grave for him and finish him.”
Mander was the same person who had drafted a Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence (Access to Justice and Reparations) Bill 2011 which proceeded on the presumption that communal trouble was created only by Hindus and never by a minority community.” Had this Bill not been opposed by the only party the BJP , entire spectrum and definition of communal riots would have changed to branding Hindus alone as perpetrators even where even when they were cent percent victims.
Mander and his Party had nothing to say against former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi , putting up so far a “secular face”, reportedly wishing Modi (God bless him) getting infected with corona virus . A man having occupied such a top constitutional position in a predominantly and historically Hindu country, at last turned out to be an Islamic fanatic and dropping his masks off. That is the tragedy.
Communalism and secessionists tendencies are raising their heads in the country. Modi is considered by such combined elements which promote such tendencies openly as a hindrance in furthering their agenda . On the contrary, Narendra Modi is trying to show more elasticity and no strictness in bringing to justice such elements, sending the message of his being too much democratic, tolerant, forbearing and too much liberal. He may do more of it and in heaps but “they” were not going to accept him despite with strong 325 numbers in Lok Sabha , let alone “pardon ” him . That is unfortunately the reality. He must prove his mettle and respond to the massive mandate he got in respect of getting perpetrators of Delhi carnage ruthlessly punished by fast tracking courts and on day to day hearings.
