JAMMU, July 13: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is also President of the Council today sacked Jawaid Shah from the post of Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and attached him with General Administration Department (GAD).
Member of the Sports Council and former National Handball player Waheed-ur-Rehman Para has been appointed as new Secretary Sports Council.
When contacted, Para told the EXCELSIOR that he will assume the charge of Secretary, State Sports Council, shortly. “I will work for the promotion of sports and welfare of the players”, he said, adding that funds sanctioned by the State and Central Governments will be used judiciously.
