‘Joining politics just excuse, decision not right’

JAMMU, Jan 12: Member Parliament from PDP, Nazir Ahmed Laway has alleged that former IAS officer Shah Faesal who has created uproar in Kashmir political spectrum, will ultimately settle abroad and his claim of joining politics is just an excuse.
Talking to Excelsior, Laway said according to him the decision of Shah Faesal to quit coveted IAS post is not right. He said Shah Faesal, an IAS topper, was a source of inspiration for the Kashmiri youth. He had infact become a role model for the other youth in Kashmir. Being an IAS officer, Faesal could have been able to render better services to the people of the State.
Replying to another question, PDP MP said he sees two aspects behind this move. There were many top leaders like Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, Bakshi Gulam Mohammed, Mir Qasim, Mir Sadiq, Mufti Mohd Sayeed and others. ” I do not think he would be able to perform better or serve in better way in politics, than being a senior IAS officer. I may become Home Minister or any other minister in Union Govt or in the State but can not become an IAS officer and he had achieved a grand success in this field,” Laway said.
” It is good if highly educated and visionary people come forward in politics but as far as I know Shah Faesal and being a member with a political back ground, I will not be swayed with the arguments of other top leaders in Kashmir or Delhi with regard to decision of Shah Faesal. I think he has some other motive behind. It is just an excuse by him to join politics. I am not sure whether he would come into the politics or not. And if he joins this field, he will ultimately go from here also and settle abroad,” Laway maintained.
Justifying his point, the PDP MP said, after joining IAS, Shah Faesal visited many foreign countries. He was the world and his vision also became broader. Laway said, ” Now a days the big companies for the post of CEOs and other top positions, prefer highly qualified young dynamic IAS officers. They offer package not in lakhs but in crores. Faesal is highly ambitious and will ultimately go to some foreign country to settle down. After all every person wants money, status and top position in life. And as per my political wisdom and experience is concerned, Shah Faesal will ultimately settle abroad and his claims like he changed his mind to quit this post, over killings in Kashmir, atrocities on youth, increasing alienation etc, is just a pretext to find an exit,” the PDP MP added.
