Shabir takes stock of people’s problems

RAJOURI, Nov 27: Underscoring the need for time bound completion of ongoing developmental projects under core sectors, the Minister of State for Power, Forests, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan has stressed upon the concerned executing agencies to redouble their efforts to accomplish quality infrastructure targets before current fiscal end for comfort of the people, especially those living in far-off and hilly areas of the State.
Taking stock of the people’s problems and developmental needs during his extensive tour to far flung areas of Rajouri, the Minister today inspected under execution 4 Kilometre and 8 Kilometre Dodason Payeen and Dodason Balla roads, besides Water Supply Scheme Dodason apace at the cumulative cost of Rs 9 crore.
The Minister reviewed the status of the works and directed the executing agencies to complete the project in time bound manner ensuring use of quality material and judicious utilization of the funds. He said after the completion of these road and water scheme projects over eight thousand population of the area would be benefitted.
Interacting with the people, the Minister said that upgradation of education, power and health sectors in the area also received focused attention, adding that Dadson is being covered under R-APDRP- the flagship scheme that envisages power infrastructure development in the rural areas. . He called upon the people to avail the employment opportunities under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREGA) Scheme.
During the tour, the Minister also visited villages of Gambair Muglayan, Khotli Kolak and Pollual where he took stock of the problems of the people, besides listening to their developmental demands. He assured them that their genuine needs would be met in a phased manner.
