UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: Minister of State for Health (Independent charge), Shabir Ahmad Khan formally inaugurated Mega Multispeciality Medical check-up and surgical camp in the premises of Rotary Eye and ENT Hospital here this evening.
The mega camp is being organized by Rotary Foundation in collaboration with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir and Rotary Clubs of J & K with the active support of district administration.
Legislatures, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Krishan Bhagat, Additional Secretary, Union Health Ministry, Mandeep Kour, Deputy Commissioner, P.K Pole, PRIP Rtn, Raja Saboo, Director Health Jammu, Dr. Madhu Khullar, Director NRHM, Dr. Yash Paul Sharma, DG Rtn, Upkar Singh Sethi, PDG Rtn. Dr. Rajiv Pradhan, Chief Project Coordinators, PDG. Dr. Vinod Sharma and Rtn. D. N Sharma and functionaries of Health Department were present on the occasion.
Appreciating the selfless and noble initiative of the Rotary International for the service of mankind in the field of healthcare regardless of race, colour, creed, religion or gender, the Minister expressed his gratitude to R. K Saboo and other Coordinators of this medical mission for organizing this Multispeciality Mega Health Camp for the benefit of the needy patients. He hoped that the initiative taken by Rotary International in the association with Health Department would go a long way to help the down trodden and poor masses of the State.
Mr. Khan said that Government is committed to make every effort to safeguard and to promote health of the people and ensure wide spread and efficient medical services throughout the State. He said such camps are required to be conducted at regular interval especially in far flung areas where people have very limited access to such super specialties.
Lauding the efforts of functionaries of Rotary International, MLA Udhampur said that it was a rare opportunity for the people of the area to get advance specialized medical treatment especially those who could not go outside the State due to financial constraints.
MLA Chenani also spoke on the occasion while as past Rotary International President, Rtn, R.K Saboo highlighted the various activities by the Rotary International under its Medical Mission.
