RAJOURI, July 1: Minister of State for Power, Forest, CA&PD and Transport, Shabir Ahmed Khan today said that modernization of power infrastructure in 30 towns of the State is apace under R-APDRP, adding that Government contemplates to cover all the towns and villages having population more than 4000 under this scheme. He said in this regard a detailed project report would be forwarded soon to the Central Government for approval of funds.
Addressing a public gathering after inauguration Receiving Station at Darhal, Rajouri, which was upgraded from 3.15 MVA to 6.30 MVA at a cost of Rs 19 lakh , the Minister said that by the augmentation of receiving station the power supply has improved in the area. He said the work on Receiving Station Kanditrori , Darhal is also apace at an estimated cost of Rs 2.6 crore, after time bound completion it would help further in improving power voltage in the constituency .
The Minister assured the people that all the un-electrified villages and hamlets of the area would be electrified under RGGVY .He said in this regard the Centre has approved State Government’s revised plan of Rs 79.96 crore for Rajouri District under RGGVY. He said under this Yojana the Centre has so for released Rs 48 crore, against which Rs. 30 crore have been expended on upgradation of power infrastructure in the district.
On the occasion, MLA Darhal, Ch Zulfkar Ali announced Rs 10 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund for strengthening of HTL and LTL power net work in the constituency. He said though some improvement under the power sector has been registered by Power Development Department, yet there is much to be done under the sector in this remote and hilly area.
Senior Congress leaders, Iqbal Malik, Naseem Malik, Zahid Malik and National Conference leader Parvez Malik also addressed the gathering.
Later, the Minister inspected under execution 6 kms Darhali bridge to Chatyar road which is being constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.47 crore. He directed the concerned authorities to ensure time bound completion of the road for convenience of the people of the area.
He was apprised by the concerned engineers that so far Rs 1.05 crore have been expended on the construction of this road.
