JAMMU, May 27: While projecting pending demands of the J&K employees and pensioners, State Government Employees Joint Action Committee (SGEJAC) has warned to revive agitation in near future.
Addressing a joint press conference here today, senior members of the JAC, Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma, Babu Hussain Malik, Subash Verma, Yash Paul Sharma, Prem Singh Bawa and Darshan Magotra, strongly criticized the State Government for not addressing the pending demands of the employees from various Government Departments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). They said despite several representations and holding protests, the Government is paying no heed towards the pending issues of the employees.
They condemned the police lathi-charge on the protesting daily wage workers for their demands. It is unfortunate that instead of resolving workers’ issues, the Government is using brutal force to gag the voice of the employees. They said strong resentment against the Government is brewing among the State employees especially the daily wagers, consolidated, contractual and ad hoc workers.
They warned the Government to take notice of their pending issues and representations with in a fortnight, otherwise the SGEJAC after consultation with their other allied groups and counterparts in Kashmir would revive strong agitation. They also issued appeal to all the employees’ bodies to get united and launch massive agitation in coming days.
The major demands projected included regularisation of daily wagers, adhoc and contractual employees, release of 10 % DA, balance payment of 6th Pay Commission, removal of pay anomalies, implementation of defined pension scheme, restructuring of PSUs, increase of Medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, reorganization of Estates Department and Municipal Corporation, dislocation allowance and settlement of the issues of VRS given SRTC employees.
