SFC officers acquitted, court passes strictures against SVO

JAMMU, Apr 30: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Puneet Gupta today acquitted Sham Kumar Gupta, the then Manager Incharge Transport SFC, Kulbir Singh Salathia, the then Head Assistant Transport Section SFC, R S Kotwal, Senior Assistant Transport Section SFC, Suresh Dutt, the then Divisional Manager SFC Jammu and SC Chopra, the then Manager SFC Jammu, who were facing corruption charges.
According to the Vigilance case, these officers had conspired with some private persons in sanctioning loan which resulted into loss to the exchequer of State Finance Corporation.
“The investigation has been done in a causal and pre-functionary manner. The Investigating Officer has not gone into the basics of the case. The documents formed the vital part of investigation yet there was no effort to go deep into them as the forensic analysis of the documents was not done and there was no attempt to thrash the specific role played by the accused person in the case”, the Court said.
