Suresh Sharma, spokesman, JKFCEF while talking to media explained that their all attempts in the past have proved failure as Govt has not moved till date to release pending pay. Call for protests was given by JKFCEF throughout JKUT simultaneously in Kashmir and Jammu. The protests were held through out Jammu province at divisional Headquarters and due to lockdown in whole of Kashmir symbolic protests were held in far flung areas in forests of Kashmir province to express anger against the Government for its failure to release salary. The employees are however, discharging their duties in far flung forests without pay and are at the verge of starvation, Sharma added.
He lamented the casual approach of the Govt to deal with issues like release of pay, release of 7th pc, conducting of DPC. The employees are under shock and trauma for want of salaries as dependents of more than 2500 employees are tired of meeting their day to day needs during COVID-19. Sharma expressed apprehensions at certain quarters a sinister conspiracy by some officers to prolong this situation so as to tarnish the honest and pro employees approach if LG and chief secretary of JKUT. There seems to be deliberate attempt to force the employees to raise hue and cry for even their legitimate dues inspite of clear cut instructions of Prime Minister of India to disburse salary in time during Covid period.
He appealed LG for his kind intervention and settle all pending issues of employees i.e. release of pending pay of 4 months, release arrears of 7th Pay Commission, release 39 pc DA, conducting of DPC, clearing of 6th PC arrears to in-service and retired employees before formation of forest development Corporation. The genuine concern of employees regularised under SRO – 64 need consideration of Govt.
