Several theft cases worked out, 4 arrested

JAMMU, July 17: Police today worked out several theft cases and arresting four persons including two thieves along with stolen property.
Police spokesman said that on July 13, one Avtar Singh, son of Punnu Ram of Kothey Saini, Bishnah lodged a written report at Police Station Bishnah that on the intervening night of July 10 and 11 some unknown thieves decamped with one water pumping motor from his farm. Similar kinds of thefts had taken place earlier also.
Accordingly, a case was registered and investigation started. After sustained and hectic efforts, Bishnah Police team led by SHO SI Jaipaul Sharma rounded up a number of suspects and during questioning one of them namely Tara Chand, son of Milkhi Ram of Jakhtu Chak, who is an auto driver by profession, confessed the crime.
The auto driver disclosed that he along with his associate Tara Chand, son of Mohan Lal of Bathehra had committed the theft. They confessed other motor thefts also. Accordingly, raids were conducted and Tara Chand was also arrested. On their disclosure, police recovered seven stolen water-pumping motors.
Police also arrested two scrap dealers, who used to receive the stolen motors from the thieves. They have been identified as Ramveer Kabbadia, Thritha Morh Bari Brahmana and Bhema Sain Kabbadia, Udhamsingh Nagar Digiana.
