JAMMU, Dec 11: Several employees’ organizations/unions have resolved to fully support two-day strike programme of Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) on December 14 and 15.
Geology and Mining Employees Welfare Association, Jammu province in a meeting held here today under the leadership of Ravi Singh Bhau condemned the attitude of State Government for causing delay in addressing employees’ pending demands. They alleged that Government has failed to implement the agreement reached between the representatives of JCC and the members of Cabinet Sub Committee.
The demands regarding removal of pay anomalies, implementation of 6th Pay Commission in all the PSUs, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years, regularization of adhoc, contractual and daily rated workers and enhancement of medical allowance have remained un-attended. The Association unanimously decided to observe two day strike on December 14 and 15 on the call given by JCC.
All J&K Sheep & Wool Workers Association in a meeting held under the leadership of Mohd Gafoor Dar today resolved to support December 14-15, 2012 strike programme of the JCC and issued fresh appeal to the employees of all the PSUs and departments to observe `Kaam Chhorh Hartal’ for two days. Bharat Bhushan Bhati, general secretary said that employees will hold protest demonstrations/ dharnas at their respective offices on December 14 and take out large rally from MA Stadium near Jewel Chowk to Civil Secretariat at 11 am on December 15.
Meanwhile, JK Medical Employees Federation led by Dharminder Singh has also decided to observe two day strike on JCC’s call on December 14-15. The Federation members in a meeting held today urged the State Government to address pending demands of the employees. Paramjit Singh, R K Sharma, Mohd Latief, Kulwant Singh, Saroj Bala, Madan Lal and Neelam Kumari were also present.
ITI Employees United Front led by Nazir Ahmed Molvi today discussed the proposed strike programme announced by JCC and decided to go with the decision of the JCC leadership. The members unanimously resolved to observe two day strike on the given dates.
Meanwhile, employees from various departments in a meeting held under the leadership of Kuldeep Singh and Mohinder Raina decided to support JCC’s strike programme and observe two day strike on December 14 and 15. They also issued appeal to the employees from various PSUs and Government Departments to observe `Kam Chhorh Hartal.’
