Several deputations meet Ambika Soni

  JAMMU, Aug 30:  Several deputations met the AICC general secretary and incharge J&K affairs of the party Ambika Soni at State guest house here this evening and projected various issues.
Vice Chairman of the OBCs’ Advisory Board Kuldip Raj Verma led by other members met Ms Soni and presented her a memorandum. They demanded enhancement of reservation  from 2 to 27 % in favour of OBCs in J&K at par with the Central Government. They pointed out that 2 % reservation  was not sufficient and it was just mockery. Mr Verma also demanded sanction of sub plan for OBCs on the pattern of STs and SCs.  He also projected the issue of political reservation for the community.
Another strong delegation led by senior Congress leader Vikram Malhotra met Ambika Soni and raised issues related to Jammu city. Malhotra focused on the developmental issues of Jammu East constituency. Mrs Soni during meeting spoke about the Panchyati Raj Act  and Congress party’s resolve to implement it in letter and spirit.
A delegation of Kashmiri Pandits under the leadership of PCC general secretary C L Bhat I/C Migrants Cell apprised Mrs Soni of the problems faced by Kashmiri Pandits.  It also submitted a detailed memorandum with charter of demands. They stressed for political reservation, return of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley, passage of Temple Bill, enhancement of cash relief  and minority status for Kashmiri Pandits.
Another deputation of Akhil Bharatiya Jat Mahasabha  led by its president Ch Manmohan Singh met the AICC general secretary and projected the issues of refugees, border people and other Displaced persons of 1947,65 and 71.    It was pointed out that Jats are socially and educationally backward and they most reside along the border belt of Jammu Samba and Kathua  and they should also be benefitted under RBA category. He also demanded that people of the community has suffered a lot during recent rains and floods and they should be compensated suitably.
Ch Dewan Singh, Ch Rashpal Singh, Ch Sham  Lal and others also accompanied.
