*Div Com reviews progress of ongoing works

JAMMU, Sept 28: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, who is also Additional Chief Executive Officer- Jammu Metropolitan Region Development Authority (JMRDA), today chaired a meeting to review the progress of work on different projects being executed by JMRDA in five associated districts.
The JMRD Authority covers 5 districts of Jammu division i.e Jammu, Reasi, Udampur, Samba and Kathua comprising 30 tehsils and over 1107 revenue villages.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; VC JDA, Pankaj Magotra; Chief Town Planner, MD J&K Housing Board Jammu, Engineers of PWD, UEED,  Architect JMRDA, Devinder Gupta and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba, Udhampur and Reasi attended the meeting through video conferencing.
During the meeting, the Div Com took stock of the status of ongoing projects including construction of parking/bus terminal, development of pathways, green spaces at Hiranagar Town, development of pathways amenities under Tawi River Front View project Jammu, development of bus stand at Thandi Khui Vijaypur and other development projects.
It was informed that several additional projects have been approved and are coming up in the districts including construction of Multi Level parking at Katra, improvement of Transport Nagar Jammu, construction of JMRDA office, construction of fly-over bridge with approaches connecting circular road near Julaka Mohalla with heritage complex Jammu etc.
The concerned executing agencies apprised the Div Com about the progress on each project. It was informed that the work was in full swing and the taken up projects are at different stages of execution.
The Div Com directed the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work on all  ongoing projects and float tenders for pending projects.
He also instructed the DCs to personally monitor the pace of work and resolve land, other issues, if any. The executing agencies were asked to submit progress reports on regular intervals.
The Div Com also discussed preparation of plans for the current financial year and asked the DCs and concerned departments to identify the works which could be included in the plan like development of parking spaces, development of rotaries, parks, public utility etc. He also directed them to submit the proposals/ DPRs after consultation with the executing agencies of their respective districts for timely approvals of the same.
