Settlement work reviewed at Samba

SAMBA, June 28: The Regional Directorate Survey & Land Records Jammu has completed the settlement of forty villages in record time of six months, while the Directorate is making every effort to further accelerate the process.
The information was given at a meeting convened and chaired by the Regional Director Survey & Land Records Rajesh Kumar Shavan here at Samba to the progress made in the process of settlement.
It is pertinent to mention that the Government has prioritized the settlement work and created the Regional Directorates to speed up the work.
It was impressed upon the field functionaries to make the error free reward and associate the land holders & estate holders to redress their grievances.
It was pointed out by the field staff that due to lack of adequate number of ETS (Electronic Total Machine) they were facing slight difficulty to achieve the fixed targets. However, the Director assured them that he would take up the issue at the appropriate forum.
It was also disclosed that the Regional Directorate has created an official Website (www.rd-slrj.nic.in) and the availability of record in the Central record room pertaining to the Districts has been put in public domain so that people can check it without any inconvenience.
Sanjay Gupta, also HQ. Jammu, Tehsildar, Tarsem Lal, Kulbhushan Khajuria NT, Raman Chalotra also attended the meeting.
