KATHUA, June 29: The Regional Director Survey & Land Records Rajesh Kumar Shavan, accompanied by Assistant Settlement Officer (HQ) Jammu Sanjay Gupta, today reviewed the progress on settlement work at Kathua and Basohli.
The field functionaries were directed to do the preliminary verification and updation of Jamabandies before deployment of the Electronic Total Station (ETS) in the villages.
It is pertinent to mention that the Govt. has prioritized the settlement work and created the Regional Directorate to speed up the work.
It was also disclosed that the Regional Directorate has developed an official website with url www.rd-slrj.nic.in and inventory of the record available in the Central Record Room Jammu pertaining to the Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts has been put in public domain so that people can check it without inconvenience. Gurmukh Singh , SDM (Ex officio ASO) Basohli, Jatinder Mishra Tehsildar Kathua and all Naib Tehsildars also attended the meetings.
The revenue field agency was also instructed to maintain the revenue record properly and complete the writing of Girdawaries/ Jamabandies as per the Standing Orders. During the meeting, the SDM Basohli briefed about the revenue setup in the jurisdiction and it was projected that to facilitate the mobility of the officers vehicles are also required for achieving the settlement targets. Regional Director assured to take up the matter at the appropriate level.
