JAMMU, Feb 13: Former MLA Jammu East and ex chief whip of BJP, Rajesh Gupta today urged the Government to solve the problems of the people of Jammu East Assembly Segment.
While addressing the meetings of the party activists, Bus Stand Shopkeepers Association and tenants of evacuees’ property he demanded that these issues be settled on priority basis.
Rajesh Gupta, assured full support to the tenants and shopkeepers in seeking justice for them and said that BJP is totally with them.
He demanded that the Mini Stadium Parade be named after Sher-i-Duggar, Pt. Prem Nath Dogra who himself was a great Football player and the naming of the stadium after the great son of the soil stands already approved in the Assembly.
Housing and Urban Development Department was asked to hasten the parking project of Panjtirthi, Peer Kho. Subzi Mandi Market needs to be developed like Pallika Bazaar and Tawi river bank to be developed on the lines of Sabarmati Project. An auditorium for the entertainment of the people needs be built at Peer Kho. In order to get rid of the traffic congestion on the Jammu roads more fly overs need to be constructed like Flyover from Manipur to Ambphalla and Flyover from Narwal Chowk to Kunjwani Chowk.
He also demanded that the Cable Car Project from Peer Kho to Mahamaya Temple be started before Mahashivratri Mela. The project of Raghunath Temple should be taken up on the lines of Golden Temple. Besides he urged the CAPD to streamline the formation of new ration cards and also ensure their bifurcations. He urged the Social Welfare Department that pendency of Old Age and Widow Pensions be cleared as early as possible and asked PDD to provide amnesty to all domestic, commercial, industrial and hotels and streamline the revenue collection.
He further demanded digging of three tube wells at Dhonthly Bazar, two at Gujjar Nagar and two at Indra Chowk and 50 year old water pipes need to be replaced as they are stinking and also a health hazard to streamline water supply in Jammu East.
Gupta informed the meetings that he took up these issues with Lt. Governor, G C Murmu and he assured their settlement. He said L G has also assured him that the settlement of issues of shopkeepers of Bus Stand.
