JAMMU, Aug 30: As a part of Rashtriya Swasthya Swayamsevak Abhiyaan, BJP East Mandal organized a training camp to train the volunteers on anticipated third wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president was the chief guest and he inaugurated the camp organized by Praveen Kerni, president BJP East Mandal.
The training programme witnessed participation of over 150 enthusiastic workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Sethi said that ahead of the third wave of COVID-19, BJP National President J.P Nadda has launched Swasthya Swayamsevak Abhiyaan to prepare volunteers for the possible third wave of COVID-19.
He said that under this campaign BJP aims to reach out to the people in two lakh villages and over four lakh health volunteers will be involved in this campaign.
The BJP leader said that volunteers will first be prepared adequately by imparting proper training and then they will serve the people at every booth of East Constituency to provide the requisite effective service to the needy people during the possible third wave of COVID-19.
Manish Sharma informed that the trained 4 lakh volunteers will be divided into several groups each comprising four persons—one doctor, one from the IT Cell and two other workers.
He said that the training module will be divided into five parts including training on how to keep surroundings clean, what should be done to keep the body fit to fight COVID, facility of quarantine, arranging doctors for consultation and maintaining data about nearest hospitals and ambulances that could be used in case of emergency.
Vinay Gupta, BJP District president Jammu; Dr Deepak, Dy Superintendent DRDO Hospital; Dr Shruti, Ayush Ayurvedic Medicine; Kiran Gupta, Mahila Wing president of Aaradhaya Yog Trust; Ankush Dogra, IT District Incharge also spoke on the occasion.
