LUCKNOW, Oct 9:
Stepping up precautionary measures against diseases like Malaria, Dengue, and Chikungunya, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed the officials to effectively implement the ongoing Communicable Disease Control Campaign in the state.
He also directed to set up dedicated isolation wards in medical colleges and district hospitals while ensuring proper cleanliness.
While giving instructions during a high-level review meeting with senior officials at his official residence, Yogi Adityanath said, “Even as Covid remains in effective control, there is a need to remain vigilant and increase testing. The spread of communicable diseases should be prevented in view of the rains and festive season and proper control measures should be put in place.
He further directed the Health and Home Departments to improve the public address system.
Expressing concern over the untimely rains in the state, he said that the situation of water logging should not arise anywhere in the state and relief material should be distributed in all the flood-affected areas through public representatives.
“The relief amount admissible by the Government should be given on the loss of public life. Concerned ministers and officers should conduct an on-ground inspection of the flood-affected areas,” he said. Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the Covid vaccination drive in the state, Yogi said that so far a total of 39 crore doses of the vaccine have been administered in the state, which is the highest in the entire country.
“Out of these, over 4.39 crore precaution doses have been given while the number of active patients in the state is 385,” he said.
The CM said that during festivals like Navratri and Dussehra, more than 400 idols installed in different parts of the state have not been immersed yet. The ceremony of Ravan Dahan was also to be held at 35 places. Many events related to Valmiki Jayanti and Barawafat will be held in the state. In view of these festivals and occasions, the Home Department should remain extra vigilant to avoid any unfortunate incidents,” he said. (UNI)
