SRINAGAR, July 27: Minister for Revenue, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Abdul Rehman Veeri today chaired a meeting during which he directed the Custodian Department to setup timeframe for rent realization from Government departments.
The meeting was attended by Sandeep Nayak, Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Department, M H Malik, Secretary Horticulture, Muhammad Ashraf Mir, Secretary Revenue, Aijaz Ahmed Bhat, Custodian General, Tasaduq Jeelani, Director Estates and other concerned.
It was given out that a payment of Rs 204.24 crore is outstanding as rentals of custodian assets from various Government departments.
The Minister sought details about date of agreement, rent payment status and agreement status from custodian officials and stressed on following the agreements in letter and spirit.
He also asked the department to submit rent bills at the earliest so that the departments would be able to liquidate the amount according to the set timeframe.
Veeri further asked the Custodians of Jammu and Kashmir divisions to re-look the projects conceived for construction and get the same prepared through Expert Consultants and then submit DPRs to the Administrative Department for necessary approval.
The meeting was told that the defaulting departments include Agriculture Department, Tourism Department, Education Department, Home Department, Power Development Department, Health and Medical Education Department, Sheep Husbandry Department, Estates Department and Public Works Department (R&B).
