JAMMU, Aug 29: Accusing the private Air Services Pawan Hans and UTAIR of violating the agreement, the Sarv Shakti Sewak Sanstha from Thathri has demanded two more choppers on urgent bases to clear the rush of Machail Mata pilgrims, stranded at helipad near the shrine and base camp Gulab Garh.
The stranded pilgrims are mostly old and ailing who can’t go on foot to holy shrine as the road is unsafe and risky for them, said members of the Sanstha, in a statement, issued here today.
The members also demanded that in view of huge influx of pilgrims from all parts of the country, Mata Machail Shrine Board should be constituted strictly on the pattern of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board by introducing a Bill in the Legislative Assembly in the coming session.
