Mumbai, Aug 31 : The BSE Sensex on Thursday advanced 169 pts to open at 65,256.15 as buying was seen across the board.
The Nifty rose 28 pts at 19,375.55.
The stocks like Bankex, Capital Goods, Realty went in early trade.
The Mid Cap rose 0.41 pc and Small Cap by 0.64 pc.
In 31 scrips, 24 advanced while 7 declined.
The gainers were Jio Financial services by 4.98 pc to Rs 244.30, Maruti Suzuki by 1.26 pc to Rs 9887.70, Tata Steel by 0.66 pc to Rs 122.85, HCL Technologies by 0.66 pc to Rs 1178 and Tech Mahindra by 0.61 pc to Rs 1177.40.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 0.52 pc to Rs 853, Bajaj finance by 0.36 pc to Rs 7237, HDFC Bank by 0.31 pc to Rs 1574 and Sun Pharma by 0.28 pc to Rs 1110.33.
