MUMBAI, Jan 2: The 30 scrip index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) bounced back today by 155.51 points to 21,295.99 as buying was witnessed across the board.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE), moved up by 44.75 points to 6,346.40.
Indices like Bankex, Capital Goods, Power, Metal and Auto stocks pushed the sensex up.
The scrips like Maruti Suzuki, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma and HDFC increased while Bharti Airtel, Coal India, NTPC and Bajaj Auto declined in the opening trade.
The gainers were Maruti Suzuki by 2.24 pc to Rs 1802.80, Axix Bank by 2.11 pc to Rs 1319, Sun Pharma by 1.83 pc to Rs 582.90 and HDFC by 1.66 pc to Rs 806.30.
The losers were Bharti Airtel by 0.76 pc to Rs 335.05, Coal India by 0.70 pc to Rs 289.85, NTPC by 0.69 pc to Rs 137.05 and Bajaj Auto by 0.31 pc to Rs 1911.80. (AGENCIES)
