Srinagar: Crime Branch last night arrested a senior bureaucrat, Mehrajudin Khan, for fudging his date of birth record and seized some documents from his house.
MD Khan, administrative secretary of ARI and Trainings department was arrested today for changing his date of birth. He had tampered his service record by changing his date of birth from November 1958 to November 1961. The CB is scrutinizing his service record and date of the birth certificate.
He was earlier administrative secretary of consumer affairs and public distribution department and Agriculture Production department.
In recent years this is the first time that a senior bureaucrat has been arrested by the Police.
