JAMMU, Feb 24: A senior advocate of J&K High Court was found murdered inside his house in Greater Kailash area of city outskirts today.
“The deceased has been identified as Reyaz Ahmad Buchh (66) son of Mohd Ali Buchh,” police sources said, adding, he was the husband of Power Development Department’s retired Chief Engineer Shehnaz Goni and was alone at his residence when the incident took place.
They said a police party from Greater Kailash rushed to the spot after getting information about the murder and called Forensic and Crime Branch teams. “After photography and videography of the crime spot, the body was shifted to mortuary of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu,” they added.

Sources said as per the preliminary investigations, the Advocate was strangulated to death by his killer and both had a scuffle before that as the deceased had some minor injury marks, particularly on one of his eyes while blood was coming out from his mouth.
“The CCTV at the house and safes were found damaged while the private car of the family was also missing, indicating theft as the motive behind the murder,” they informed.
Prima facie, the servant of the family namely Deepak hailing from Bilaspur and at present settled at Jammu is suspected to be the prime accused, sources further said, adding a murder case has been registered against the accused and he is being interrogated.
Quoting a relative of the family, sources said Buchh’s wife is abroad and his son is in Mumbai. “The family had engaged the domestic help only a few months back,” they added.
