JAMMU, May 26: Regional Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Jammu today organized a seminar under ‘Niryat Bandhu Scheme’ to generate Export awareness in collaboration with Birpur Industrial Association.
MK Nikhare, ITS, Deputy DGFT, Ramesh Kumar Verma, ITS, ADGFT, Romesh Badial, president, BIA, Gagan Jain, secretary general BIA and Sachin Mahajan, Senior Manager, HDFC Bank, shared the dais.
The programme began with inaugural address by Nikhare, explaining the role of DGFT in International Trade. He appealed the industrialists to obtain Importer Exporter Code Number, the basic requirement for entering into International Trade, which was being processed online these days on submission of just two documents i.e. PAN and a Bank Certificate.
He advised the industrialists in Jammu to come forward for exports and avail the export incentive schemes under the Foreign Trade Policy.
Ramesh Kumar Verma apprised the industrialists of various schemes like Merchandise Export from India Scheme (MEIS), Service Export from India Scheme (SFIS), Advance Authorization Scheme and Export Promotion Capital Goods Scheme (EPCG) under Foreign Trade Policy.
Navneet R Singh gave a presentation on provisions available with HDFC bank with regard to FOREX while Vijay Kumar Jain, president, Walnut Exporters Association shared his nearly 46 years of experience in International Trade from Jammu.
Jain appreciated the operation of both Bank and Joint DGFT, Jammu and said that the era of Controlling Authorities have been replaced by exporter friendly regime which has made International Trade very easier.
The programme ended with concluding remarks by Gagan Jain, who termed the seminar to be very informative one.
