Seminar on ‘Palliative Care and Nursing Perspectives’ at SKIMS

Srinagar, Mar 25:  A two day seminar on ‘Palliative Care and Nursing Perspectives” organized by Department of Nursing Administration in collaboration with Pain and Palliative Care Regional Cancer Centre was inaugurated here today at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) auditorium here in Soura.
A SKIMS spokesperson said the Director SKIMS Dr Showkat Ahmad Zargar, who was chief guest on occasion, hailed commitment of staff of Pain and Palliative care and nursing administration and lauded them for their exemplary work that are helping terminally ill patients in pain management.
Chief Organiser and Nursing Superintendent at SKIMS, in her inaugural address welcomed guests and appreciated their presence. “She informed 185 delegates have registered for the event and the deliberations on pain and palliative care during the event will be useful and help to understand in depth the nursing perspectives in pain management,” said the SKIMS spokesperson.
The event was attendant by medical faculty, Nursing faculty SKIMS and associated hospitals besides, students and other nursing and administrative staff. Those who spoke on the occasion include Dean Medical Faculty Dr Gul Javid, Medical Superintendent SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan and HoD Pain and Palliative Care SKIMS Dr Ashraf Teli, the SKIMS spokesperson added.
A booklet on Pain Management and Palliative Care was also released on occasion.
