JAMMU, Oct 28: J&K Confederation of Voluntary, Social and Charitable Organizations today organized a seminar on the topic ‘Absolute Health through Yoga’ in the office of Vichar Kranti Manch International.
ID Soni, a social reformer, educationist, writer and president of Home for Aged & Infirm was the chief guest on the occasion while Sohail Kazmi, Chairman of Group of Taskeen Publications, presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shreyansh Jain, State Yoga Commissioner and Chairman of J&K Confederation of Voluntary, Social & Charitable Organizations said, “Yoga can improve symptoms of almost all physical and mental ailments. This is, as per the researches made up by the scholars, based on the experiences of saints and sages. Regular yoga practice creates mental clarity and calmness, increases body awareness, relieves chronic stress, relaxes the mind, centre’s attention and sharpens concentration”.
Dr Jain, who was also the main speaker of the seminar, explained how diseases can be cured with Yoga, by excretion of toxins from the body, by correcting the irregularities of dietary habits, sufficient intake of fresh air, avoiding tension and balancing of elements in the body.
KS Samyal (Confederation advisor), narrated the spiritual aspect of yoga by Bhaktiyog, Gyanyog and Karmyog. He also threw light on eight fold yoga Yama Niyama etc.
Kasturi Lal (president of the Confederation), Sarla Kohli (former Principal, GGM Science College and vice president of the Confederation) and Chander Mohan Sharma (general secretary, Vichar Kranti Manch International) also graced the occasion.
