JAMMU, July 2: The J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), organized a seminar on Income Declaration Scheme as a knowledge dissemination programme.
Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Sangeeta Gupta was the guest of honor on the occasion. Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, S K Sharma, officers of Income Tax Office Jammu, representatives of Chamber of Traders Federation, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Bari Brahmana Industrial Association and Members of J&K Branch of NIRC of the ICAI were also present.
On the occasion, Principal Commissioner Income Tax addressed the members on the Income Declaration Scheme and answered their queries regarding the scheme. She took personal interest to create awareness on the scheme and tried to bridge the gap between the lawmakers and the citizens.
A brief overview of the scheme was also given by JCIT S K Sharma and CA Rakesh Gupta. A webcast of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was also arranged specially for the occasion.
Secretary J&K Branch of ICAI, CA Ajay Gupta delivered the inaugural address and emphasized on the importance of the topic of the seminar. He also lauded the role of Income Tax Department in this scheme under the leadership of Sangeeta Gupta.
CA Ashwani Khajuria, Chairman of J&K Branch of ICAI, also deliberated on the scheme and stressed on the ICAI vision with the existing national priority of Swachh Bharat. CA Sudhir Arora, Vice Chairman of J&K Branch of ICAI, delivered the vote of thanks. CA Jatinder Jaswal (Treasurer), CA Shalay Razdan (Executive Member) and CA Anish Abrol (Executive Member) were also present at the occasion.
Meanwhile, J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated its 67th CA Foundation Day yesterday. Guests of honor present on the occasion were Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Sangeeta Gupta and CA Sat Sharma, MLA Jammu West and BJP State President.
The J&K Branch of ICAI organized various activities such as Flag Hoisting, Blood donation Camp, Eye Checkup Camp, Plantation Drive, Donation to the Ved Mandir Bal Niketan, an orphanage at Ambphala. A large number of Chartered Accountants & CA Students participated overwhelmingly & donated blood at ICAI Bhawan, Canal Road, Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Blood Transfusion & JKSACS.
A family get together was also organized wherein apart from holding fun filled activities, senior members & newly qualified Chartered Accountants of the branch were also felicitated by Sat Sharma and Sangeeta Gupta.
Later, J&K Branch also awarded “CA R C Gupta Memorial Award”, “Tilak Raj Malhotra Memorial Award, “Sudesh Sawhney Memorial Award” and “CA Omesh Gupta Memorial Award” to the meritorious students of CA Final Examination during 2015.
CA Anish Abrol , Executive Member J&K Branch of ICAI, conducted the proceedings. CA Sudhir Arora, (Vice Chairman ), CA Ajay Gupta (Secretary), CA Jatinder Jaswal (Treasurer) and CA Shalay Razdan (Executive Member) along with a large number of Chartered Accountants, students & their families took part in the celebrations.
