JAMMU, Mar 6: G.S Sports Club in collaboration with State Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) here today organized a seminar on ‘Donate Organs & Save Lives’ at Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School to aware the society regarding myths and superstitions related to organ donation.
P.K Mengi, SDPO City South Jammu was the chief guest while S.L Kichroo, Joint Director SOTTO J&K and Chandan Datta, Social Activist were guests of honour while RJ Vasudha RED FM 91.9 was special guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said: “We can donate a new life to someone by donating organs. We need to aware our society regarding the need of organ donation.”
Dr. S.L Kachroo, Joint Director SOTTO talked about National Organ Transplant Programme and role of SOTTO J&K in the UT. He also talked about Brain Stem Death.
RJ Vasudha said that organ donation can definitely save and enhance many lives.
She said: “If we pledge to donate our organs it will surely bring light to other’s life. She lauded the initiative taken by SOTTO J&K and Sushant Gupta, Chairman G.S Sports Club.
Rameshwar Mengi, Principal Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. School presided over the function.
Concluding the function G.S Sports Club Chairman, Sushant Gupta thanked all the guests and appealed the students to come forward and join hands to pledge organs so that no one can die due to lack of organs.
