Seminar on drug abuse held

SAMBA, Feb 11: Government Degree College organized awareness seminar on “drug abuse” in collaboration with District Police.
The programme started with the welcome address by Dr Ramesh Chander, Principal of the college. He spoke at length about the addiction of drugs. He stressed for the need of drug free country.
On the occasion, SSP Samba Joginder Singh was the chief guest, who while speaking expressed his concern over the spread of drugs among the young people and advised the students not to indulge in such activities.
A total of 12 students from various schools and GDC Samba expressed their views on Drug Abuse.
The jury on the occasion was Dr MS Pathania, Dr Sandhya Rani and Prof Anupma Kumari.
In the seminar, Ajay, Rohit and Digvijay Singh secured top three ranks.
Dr Dalbir Singh, Prof Jagdish Kumar, Prof Kamal Jeet and other faculty members were also present on the occasion.
