KATHUA, Jan 20: A newly married house wife tried to commit self immolation by setting herself ablaze at her maternal house today.
She has been identified as Shalu, 19, wife of Kuldeep Raj of Barmohan Narote, Jamal Singh, district Pathankot Punjab.
Shalu who was married over a month back had come to her maternal house in Dohni Jata Kot today falling under Rajbagh Police Station in Kathua district where she dozed kerosene oil over her person and set herself ablaze.
She was shifted by her parents to GMC Jammu in a serious condition. Rajbagh Police came to know of the incident after receiving a message from PCR Jammu. The Police later sent an Investigating Officer to the village to ascertain the facts about the cause of this extreme step taken by the newly married house wife.
