Selena Gomez hires Katy Perry’s manager

LOS ANGELES, Apr 27:  Songstress Selena Gomez has hired Katy Perry’s manager Bradford Cobb after she fired her parents as her managerial team last month.
The 21-year-old singer recruited Cobb, who turned Perry into a pop superstar, to help run her schedule after she sacked her mother Mandy and step-father Brian as her managerial team last month, reported Us magazine.
Cobb, who was listed as one of Billboard’s 40 executives under 40 in July 2013, has spent more than a decade in the industry and is recognised for turning artists into pop sensations.
“For me, it’s really about the team. Everyone (at Direct Management Group) works on all of the clients, and we build the right team for each artiste,” he had said.
Gomez has argued with her parents on many occasions in the past over the direction of her career and her on-and-off relationship with troubled star Justin Bieber.
The ‘Spring Breakers’ actress still remains close with her parents, but they are annoyed about her decision.
Meanwhile, Mandy and Brian made it clear last month they were unhappy about Gomez spending time with Bieber, who has had a number of run-ins with the law, as they believe he’s responsible for driving her to rehab in January. (PTI)
