Select pulses slide on muted demand, adequate stocks

NEW DELHI, Aug 13:  Select pulses led by moth fell by upto Rs 400 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackened demand from retailers against sufficient stocks position.

Traders said besides fall in demand from retailers at prevailing levels, adequate stocks position on improved supplies from growing regions mainly pulled down moth and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, moth drifted lower by Rs 400 to Rs 4,800-5,200 per quintal.

Arhar and its dal dara variety fell by Rs 250 and Rs 300 to Rs 7,000 and Rs 9,800-11,500 per quintal respectively.

Moong and its dal chilka local declined by Rs 300 each to Rs 5,000-5,500 and Rs 5550-5950 per quintal respectively. Its dal dhoya local and best quality enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 5950-6450 and Rs 6450-6,650 per quintal respectively.

In line with overall trend, peas white and green were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,600-3,625 and Rs 3,800-3,900 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 6,000-6,200, bold Rs 6,050-6,250, Dal Masoor local Rs 6,450-6,950, best quality Rs 6,550-7,050, Malka local Rs 7,000-7,300, best Rs 7,100-7,400, Moth Rs 4,800-5,200, Arhar Rs 7,000, Dal Arhar Dara Rs 9,800-11,500.
