NEW DELHI, Oct 6: Select edible oil prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to slackened demand at prevailing higher levels.
A few oils in the non-edible section also eased on reduced offtake by industrial units.
Traders said subdued demand at prevailing higher levels mainly helped select edible oil prices to decline.
In the national capital, soyabean refined mill delivery (Indore) and soyabean degum (Kandla) oils fell by Rs 100 each to Rs 7,400 and Rs 7,000 and crude palm oil (ex-kandla) traded lower by the same margin to Rs 7,250 per quintal, respectively.
Palmolein (rbd) and palmolein (Kandla) oils followed suit and lost Rs 100 each at Rs 7,550 and Rs 7,100 per quintal.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil declined by Rs 50 to Rs 5,600 per quintal on lack of demand from paint industry.
Neem oil also moved down by Rs 50 to Rs 4,500-4,600 per quintal on reduced offtake by industrial units.
The following were today’s quotations per quintal: Oilseeds: Mustardseed 2,950-3,050 and Groundnut Seed 2,150-2,900.
Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) 1,100-1,250.
Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) 11,750, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) 1,900-1,950, Mustard expeller (Dadri) 8,150, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) 1,210-1,350, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) 1,365-1,465, Sunflower 6,300, Sesame Mill Delivery 8,600, Soybean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) 7,400, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) 7,000, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) 7,250, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) 7,100, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 7,550, Palmolein (Kandla) 7,100, Rice Bran (phy) 3,800 and Coconut(per tin) 1,300-1,350.
Non-edible oils: Linseed 5,600, Mahuwa 4,000, Castor 8,500-8,600, Neem 4,500-4,600, Rice Bran 3,280-3,380 and Palm Fatty 3,225-3,300.
Oilcakes: Groundnut Dehusk 800-850, Sesame 950-1,150, Mustard (New) 1,000-1,025, Mustard 1,200-1,210 and Cottonseed 1,075-1,175. (PTI)
