SEECC flays Edu Deptt for issuing anti-employees circulars

JAMMU, Jan 28: School Education Employees Coordination Committee (SEECC) held a meeting under the chairmanship of Narinder Singh Jamwal and Ganesh Khajuria, provincial president.
The speakers lambasted higher authorities in the Education Department for putting the whole department in chaos and confusion by issuing anti-employees circulars especially the screening test drama which has put about 50,000 ReTs in mental trauma as the High Court has directed verification of only those who had obtained fake degrees from unrecognized universities. Such steps on the part of Government affect the honour, dignity and self respect of the teaching fraternity particularly ReTs, they added.
The speakers warned that teaching fraternity would not tolerate such humiliation at any cost. They also expressed great resentment over the reported move of the Government to curb trade unionism to weaken the employees’ movement, whereas teaching and non-teaching employees of School Education Department project their genuine demands by means of peaceful protests.
They criticized the Government’s move to fill the newly created posts of Joint Directors in the Education Department from among the KAS cadre. This is ill-advised move which will curtail the promotional prospects of education officers who are already facing stagnation and this move will cause great injustice to the whole teaching community, they added.
SEECC leaders appealed to all its constituents–Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum, All J&K 10+2 Lecturers Forum and Non-Teaching School Employees Forum to stand united and participate in January 30 protest call at Governor House.
Among others present were Rajinder Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Kotwal, Dinesh Gupta, Anil Sharma, Jamat Ali Agha, Talib Hussain, Deepak Sharma, Darshan Sharma, Soorat Singh Toofani, Raj Singh, OP Katoch, Ravinder Singh, Shankar Singh, Ghulan Hussain, Rajesh Sharma, etc.
