JAMMU, July 16: Secretary Rural Development Department, Sheetal Nanda, today convened a meeting to take a detailed stock of implementation of ‘Umeed’ Scheme in the Jammu division under Jammu Kashmir State Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKSRLM).
Mission Director JKSRLM, Abdul Rashid War, Chief Executive Officer JKMPCL, Manoj Kumar and other concerned officials were also present in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Secretary was informed that there are 17678 self-help groups in Jammu division having 167337 members who are generating income through these groups. These groups have their own savings of Rs 43.41 crore, while as capitalization through the department is Rs 75.55 crore, and Bank linkage stands at Rs 24.23 crore.
The meeting was further informed that 127 Automatic Milk Collection Centers (AMCS) have been set up under the scheme and JKSRLM has produced 393801.7 liters of milk from January 2019 to July 2019 at an amount of RS 11086788.
While addressing the meeting, Nanda emphasised on conducting a survey to check the feasibility and starting additional AMCs in various districts of the division.
She further stressed upon the cultivation of Aroma/Medical plants in other blocks as well and emphasised on Marketing/e-marketing of products/goods made by self -help group members of JKSRLM.
