KATHUA, Jan 30: Secretary Floriculture and Bureau of Public Grievances, Sanjeev Verma today visited the Green Industrial Park Ghati in Kathua district.
He was accompanied by GM SIDCO Virender Gupta who informed him that Biotech Park, Toll Room and industries falling in Green category have been proposed in this industrial park.
Mr Verma stressed upon more and more involvement of local people to generate direct and indirect employment through the park.
He exhorted the local entrepreneurs to come and avail the benefits from this biotechnology park in terms of bio technology, quality control, practical training and value addition of agriculture.
He urged the Director Floriculture K K Sharma to prepare a road map for better use of waste land and identified such types of aromatic and medicinal crops which are lucrative to the farmers of Kandi belt from Lakhanpur to Akhnoor.
He also appealed the local entrepreneurs to set up a unit in the park and the department will extend all support to them. Dr M K Raina senior scientist I I M, Jammu, president J&K Flower Growers Association Tejinder Singh and senior officers of SIDCO were present.
