JAMMU, May 19: Secretary, Cooperative, R K Koul today reviewed the achievements and working of Cooperative Department in Jammu region.
Earlier, he visited the construction site of Registrar Cooperative Societies office complex at Rajinder Nagar, Bantalab along with Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, Anjana Tikoo and Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Jammu, Vikas Verma.
The representatives of various executing agencies like PWD (R&B), PHE, JDA were also present on the occasion.
The Secretary took stock of the pace of work on the complex and instructed the officers of various agencies working on the different aspect of the complex to speed up work to complete the complex within the shortest possible time. The complex is coming up at a cost of Rs.4.77 crore.
The Secretary visited the office of Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies and reviewed the progress achieved by Dy Registrar of Jammu province. He directed all officers to work with zeal and dedication so as to achieve the targets fixed for them and come up to the expectation of the people.
Later, he chaired another meeting with Director, Regional Institute of Cooperative Management, Chandigarh and discussed the proposal for training of the officers of Cooperative Department and employees of Cooperative Societies.
He also conducted a surprise visit to Super Bazar Jammu along with Additional Registrar Cooperative Societies Jammu. He inspected all the counters and interacted with salesmen and enquired about their working condition. The GM briefed the Secretary Cooperative about the achievement made by the Super Bazar in the last few years.
The GM also discussed with Secretary Cooperative the online monitoring of medical shops in the premises of GMC Bakshi Nagar & SMGS Hospital being run by the Super Bazar and the discount being offered to customers by these medical shops.
The Secretary Cooperative emphasized the need for keeping pace with new emerging market scenario and inculcating innovative technology to attract more customers to the Super Bazaar. He also instructed General Manager to give wide publicity of their working in the print and electronic media to attract more customers.
