LEh, May, 10: Secretary Agriculture/Horticulture Department, Ravinder Kumar convened a preliminary meeting regarding the prospects of Hing (Asafoetida) cultivation in UT Ladakh.
Secretary, instructed the Departments to initiate and explore the cultivation of Asfoetida (Hing). He further asked to submit a proposal/plan in this regard.
He directed all the line Departments to come up with an action plan and more scientific information after consultation with the national research agencies.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Chaurasia, Director DIHAR, Dr. Namgyal, Associate Director SKUAST, Chief Agriculture Officer and Chief Horticulture Officer Leh.
