DODA, Feb 6: PCC chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir has said that the present coalition of PDP-BJP has vitiated the atmosphere of peace and harmony besides worsening the overall security situation in the State, as both Centre and State Governments have no policy or road map to deal with the Kashmir situation or Pakistan.
Addressing a largely attended Congress convention of district Doda here today, PCC chief blamed the present coalition of total failure on law and order front besides vitiating the atmosphere of social and secular harmony. The overall security situation has worsened in Kashmir valley and the Centre and State Governments are total failure in this regard.
The two ideologically opposite forces who exploited the people on regional and religious lines for their electoral gains, took U-turn and joined hands for sharing power. There is hardly in any such instance anywhere in the country where such divergent political forces took such a U-turn to favour coalition, when their main election campaign was against each other. This betrayal of people’s mandate and their after total failure deliver on their slogans has caused great resentment and anger amongst their respective electorates. So long the present coalition is in power, there is no scope of normalcy in the Kashmir situation, as the youth are totally alienated from this Government, he added.
Mir said that on governance front also, this Government is an utter failure as there is large scale favoritism, nepotism and corruption and the common man suffering a lot for basic necessities of life. There is ever increasing unemployment with no job opportunities either in Government or private sectors in the State. This Government has no road map for generating employment opportunities in the State.
PCC chief said that generating controversies by them (PDP-BJP) divergent and contradictory approach on all vital issues is the hallmark of this coalition leading to policy paralysis. Large scale transfers on political and other considerations has totally eroded the system of administration affecting accountability and transparency. This Government has failed to hold by-elections to the Anantnag Lok Sabha besides Panchayats and Local Bodies during all these years which indicates the security scenario in the State. He expressed great concern over the continued incidents of border shelling and increased incidents of militant attack in Kashmir valley.
Addressing a gathering senior leaders of the district, former Minister Mohd Sharief Niaz and Abdul Majid Wani and DCC president Naresh Gupta MLC highlighted the problems of people and failures of the Government in every sphere especially in carrying forward the developmental activities at pace with previous Government in the State with the help of UPA Government. The projects sanctioned and initiated during UPA Govt through efforts of Ghulam Nabi Azad have not been carried forward and completed as a result the area has lagged behind, they added.
