SRINAGAR: Security forces launched a fresh Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the woods at the frontier district of Kupwara, where five foreign militants and as many security personnel were killed in 48-hours-long encounter, official sources said.
They said troops of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a fresh search operation after observing some suspicious movement on Saturday afternoon in the woods. The entire forest area, including Halmatpora, was sealed. However, so far no contact was established with the militants, they said. (AGENCIES)
