Will it be called the magnanimity of the State or the rule of law or the creeping weakness of the government to provide security to the Hurriyatis, separatists and other anti-national elements at enormous cost to the exchequer? The question is when the Hurriyatis, the separatists and secessionists and their sympathizers are wanting secession of Kashmir from the Indian Union, a mission for which the militants have launched armed campaign, where then is the danger to their lives and what for do they need to be provided expensive security? The huge public amount spent on the security of separatists and Hurriyatis should be diverted to the developmental works that would bring relief to the people. The leaders who claim to be enjoying widespread popularity with the masses of people, coming as they do either from national mainstream or separatist chapters, can best be protected by their followers and party members. That would be the real indication of their popularity.
