LEH, Sept 8: The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has enjoined upon all the Heads of Departments and Chief Engineers to ascertain the security deposits and civil deposits pertaining to their department lying with the treasury of Jammu Kashmir UT and reconcile the figures with Accountant General J&K.
Asking all the departments to reconcile the exact amount of all the deposits lying with civil departments, such as Forest Department, Public Works Department etc, the UT Administration has ordered that the reconciled figures should be submitted to Director Account & Treasuries Ladakh by or before September 15, 2021.
The issue of transfer of security deposits and civil deposits in respect of works executed by private agencies in Ladakh, lying with the treasury of UT of J&K, was discussed in the meeting of the committee set up to ensure the time bound apportionment of assets and liabilities between Union Territory o J&K and UT of Ladakh on 18-06-2021.
The committee had decided to finalize the issue on or before July 31, 2021. Accordingly, Director Accounts & Treasuries vide letter dated 12-08-2021, had requested all the Administrative Secretaries to submit the requisite details by August 15, 2021.
However, the requisite details were not submitted by the departments to Finance Department, following which fresh order was issued today by the UT Administration in this regard.
