Srinagar, Oct 4: Security in Srinagar has been tightened after inputs of a militant strike in the city and Police and Para-military Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had established check points across Srinagar.
The check points were established at all the entry points of Srinagar city and vehicles were being thoroughly searched by Police and CRPF. The searches continued till afternoon.
In the meantime, Army fired few rounds after they saw suspicious movement near Police Station Yaripora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district this evening. Police and Army launched searches in Yaripora. However, nothing was found.
Meanwhile, India and Pakistani troops traded fire along LoC in Keran sector today. Sources said that Pakistani troops fired at Indian posts in Boripatra area along LoC in North Kashmir today. Army deployed on forward posts fired back at Pakistani posts. However, no loss was reported.
Security forces tonight conducted searches in Tanghdar area of North Kashmir after a loud explosion was heard near an Army camp. Sources said that a huge explosion was heard at Chinar Park outside an Army camp at Tanghdar. However, no loss was reported and during searches of the area nothing was found.
