JAMMU, Mar 3: Secretary Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj, Khurshid Ahmad Shah today directed all the Assistant Development Commissioners (ACDs) and other concerned officers to gear up their field functionaries and complete all the works under MGNERGA, IAY, IWMP and SBM programmes within the targeted time-frame.
Chairing a meeting to review the progress of rural development programmes and schemes in Jammu division, the Secretary asked all concerned to ensure proper de-silting of irrigation canals, Khuls and Zamindar Khuls so that farmers do not feel any inconvenience during ensuing agriculture season.
In order to ensure transparency in the working of the Rural Development Department, the Secretary directed them to ensure post and pre-photography and video recording of the de-silting works. He also directed them to implement all those guidelines which have been formulated by the Government in this regard.
Detailed discussions were also held on status of various other sectors including IAY. The Secretary directed the concerned to clear all the pending IAY cases earmarked for the current financial year.
The Director Rural Development Department M L Raina briefed the meeting about the activities of the department.
