JAMMU, Feb 7: Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Satesh Nehru took stock of various projects being implemented under various schemes viz. UIDSSMT, IHSDP and State Plan to ascertain the physical progress of several important projects going on in MCs of Khour, Jourian and Akhnoor respectively.
He was accompanied by KL Khajuria, Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu and FA Qazi, Executive Engineer, Local Bodies Div-1, Jammu besides other officers.
Nehru issued on spot instructions to the concerned Engineering Wing and Executive Officers to gear up the implementation of the works to ensure timely completion of targets set for the year 2014-15.
Satesh Nehru visited the new Bus Stand and newly under construction Town Hall at Khour and issued instructions to the Engineering Wing for completion of Bus Stand as well as town hall and making it functional on priority, besides construction of boundary wall of town hall. Further direction was issued for preparation of DPRs at Bus Stand Khour for the construction of shopping complex as well as construction of Bus Terminal.
He also visited the identified land at Masyal village Khour for construction of Solid Waste Management Project in 25-100 kanals and finalized the site for the construction of Solid Waste Management and the direction was issued for preparation of DPRs immediately. He also issued direction to the SDM as well as Tehsildar Khour for making available the approach road leading upto the proposed site of Solid Waste Management Project.
Nehru visited the site measuring 4-5 kanals of land at Ward No. 1 Jourian and issued directions to the engineering staff for preparation of estimates for further funding for construction of community hall in ground floor, first floor for office accommodation and rest of the available land for construction of shopping complex under self financing scheme.
At Akhnoor, Nehru inspected the site identified for Solid Waste Management Project and existing Bus Stand and issued directions to the Executive Engineer as well as Executive Officer Akhnoor for immediate completion of work besides upgrading the bus stand by black topping.
