JAMMU: A second batch of 2,481 pilgrims today left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here for Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. “A batch of 2,481 pilgrims this morning in a convoy of 66 vehicles left for the Amarnath cave shrine from here,” an official here said.
They said that 1,638 male, 663 females and 180 sadhus left the base camp. An official said that 11 light motor vehicles and 55 heavy vehicles, including State Road Transport Corporation buses, ferried the pilgrims.
He further added 1,616 yatris left for Pahalgam base camp, while 865 pilgrims left for Baltal.
“The yatra is heading smoothly on the highway despite drizzle,” they added.
