Srinagar, May 9: Army and police today launched a search operation in Mawver area of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Sources said that Army’s 30 RR, Paratroopers and Special Operation Group of police cordoned off Shanu village in Mawver following the intelligence inputs about the presence of a group of militants in the village.
The troops after cordoning off the village fired some probing shots but there was no response from militants.The searches were intensified in the evening in the nearby forest area as well.
